Tele Remote Operator Job Overview
Barrick’s Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is hiring an experienced Tele Remote Operator Trainer to join its Mining Department in Shinyanga. The role focuses on safe and efficient underground mining operations, operator training, and improving productivity using advanced tele-remote equipment.
The selected candidate will train operators, operate remote loaders, and support production targets while maintaining strict safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate tele-remote loaders in underground mining environments and open stopes
- Train and coach operators on Sandvik loaders (LH307, LH410, LH514)
- Monitor loading, hauling, and cycle performance for maximum efficiency
- Identify operational delays and recommend improvements
- Conduct towing, recovery, and underground road construction tasks
- Track productivity data including cycle times and output rates
- Support development of improved mining and operating methods
- Work with supervisors to improve operational performance
- Provide technical support to reduce costs and increase efficiency
- Follow safety procedures, policies, and zero-harm standards

Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Diploma or certification in Mining or a related technical field
- Equivalent hands-on experience may be considered
Experience
- At least 5 years as a tele-remote loader operator
- Experience in underground mining operations
- Proven productivity performance (e.g., 40t/hr on LH410)
- Experience training and mentoring mining operators
- Knowledge of mining automation systems
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of underground drilling (face drilling and rehabilitation)
- Ability to meet development targets (e.g., 200m/month per jumbo)
- Hazard identification and risk assessment skills
