About Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML)
Geita Gold Mining Ltd is Tanzania’s leading gold producer, operating in the Geita Region. It is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti.
The mine is located within the Lake Victoria Goldfields in northwestern Tanzania, about 85 km from Mwanza and near Lake Victoria. GGML has its main office in Geita and a support office in Dar es Salaam.
Job Purpose
The Geologist 3 – Exploration role focuses on providing technical expertise in planning and executing exploration drilling programs. The position supports resource growth and aligns exploration work with Life-of-Mine (LOM) plans.
You will work closely with the Exploration team and report to the Superintendent – Exploration (Resource Definition & Delineation Drilling).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical reviews of geological interpretations and drilling strategies
- Develop exploration plans with risk evaluation and resource targets
- Align exploration work with long-term mining plans
- Integrate geological data (geophysics, geochemistry, drilling results)
- Review and approve geological models
- Improve understanding of mineralization through structural analysis
- Monitor drilling performance, cost, and productivity
- Apply advanced drilling approaches such as step-out and directional drilling
- Conduct post-drilling performance reviews
- Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory standards
- Support community engagement during land access activities
- Participate in environmental monitoring and site rehabilitation

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Geology or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of Tanzania Mining Act 2010 (amended 2017)
- Familiarity with ISO45001:2018 and ISO14001:2015 standards
Experience & Skills
- 5–7 years’ experience in mineral exploration, open pit, or underground mining
- Knowledge of exploration budgeting and mining cycle
- Proficiency in ArcGIS, Datamine, and Leapfrog software
- Strong skills in geological data analysis and 3D modeling
- Competence in Microsoft Office tools
