Geita Gold Mining Ltd is Tanzania’s leading gold producer, located in the Geita Region. It operates within the Lake Victoria Goldfields, about 85 km from Mwanza and near Lake Victoria. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, with a head office in Geita and support office in Dar es Salaam.
Job Purpose
The Guard – Security role focuses on providing physical security within the process plant. The position protects employees, equipment, and company assets while maintaining strict control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow safety standards and high-risk security procedures
- Control entry and exit of staff, visitors, and contractors
- Verify ID cards and gate passes
- Inspect vehicles and conduct personal searches
- Manage deliveries and escort vehicles inside the plant
- Ensure only authorized materials leave the site
- Maintain clean and secure access control areas
- Conduct patrols across plant and perimeter
- Monitor high-risk areas and prevent unauthorized access
- Support secure handling of gold (Doré) shipments
- Keep accurate security records and reports
- Identify risks and report suspicious activities
- Handle and deliver security samples to lab teams
Qualifications
- Ordinary secondary school certificate (Form IV)
- Basic security training

Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in security, preferably in mining
Skills
- Knowledge of security procedures
- Basic military or police training is an added advantage
- Good observation and reporting skills
