Job Description

Rift Valley Cooperative Union (RIVACU) LTD, a registered secondary cooperative union operating under the Co-operative Societies Act No. 06 of 2013, is recruiting a qualified Operational Manager (Agriculture & Agribusiness Operations).

The role focuses on agricultural production management, agribusiness operations, logistics coordination, storage management, processing, and marketing of agricultural products from union members in Babati, Manyara. The position supports improved productivity, efficient supply chain systems, and agricultural value chain development within the cooperative sector.

The Operational Manager will report directly to the General Manager.

Responsibilities

Advise the General Manager on crop production and operational activities
Manage storage facilities and warehouses for agricultural inputs
Plan and execute procurement and logistics for cotton and other crops
Coordinate marketing of agricultural products from cooperative members
Collect, analyze, and utilize production, processing, and marketing data
Provide farmer training and capacity building through extension officers
Promote agricultural value chain development initiatives
Prepare seasonal budgets for farm inputs and operational needs
Support agricultural productivity improvement programs
Perform other duties assigned by the General Manager

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture (General), Agribusiness, Agro-Economics, or related field from a recognized institution
Master’s Degree is an added advantage
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in agricultural operations or agribusiness management
Strong knowledge of agricultural production systems and supply chain management
Experience in farmer training, extension services, or value chain development is an advantage
