Job Description

Rift Valley Cooperative Union (RIVACU) LTD, a registered secondary cooperative union operating under the Co-operative Societies Act No. 06 of 2013, is recruiting a qualified Marketing Officer to manage and expand marketing activities for agricultural produce in Babati, Manyara.

The Marketing Officer will report to the Operational Manager and will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, improving market access, strengthening agricultural value chains, and promoting value addition for union members’ agricultural products. The role focuses on agricultural marketing, agribusiness development, sales coordination, and market expansion both locally and internationally.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement marketing plans for agricultural products in line with the Union’s strategy
Identify and secure new local and international markets for agricultural produce
Coordinate sales, distribution, and promotional activities for member products
Conduct market research and provide regular market intelligence reports to the Operations Manager
Negotiate prices, contracts, and sales terms with buyers and partners
Promote branding, value addition, and quality standards for agricultural products
Liaise with crop boards and regulatory authorities on pricing and market regulations
Monitor market trends, product performance, and customer feedback to recommend improvements
Perform other marketing-related duties assigned by management

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Agribusiness, Business Administration, Agro-Economics, or related field from a recognized institution
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a similar marketing or agribusiness role
Strong knowledge of agricultural marketing systems, sales strategies, and value chain development
Ability to conduct market research and analyze market trends
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
