Job Description
Lake Cement Ltd, operating under the Nyati Cement brand, is hiring two technical positions within its maintenance and reliability team: Lubrication Technician and Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) Technician.
These roles support industrial machinery reliability, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance systems in a cement manufacturing environment. Candidates will work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
1. Lubrication Technician
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in lubrication or mechanical maintenance in an industrial setting
Skills
- Strong knowledge of lubrication systems, tools, and safety standards
- Experience in industrial lubrication and preventive maintenance
- Understanding of lubricant handling, storage, and disposal procedures
- Attention to detail in machinery maintenance operations
Responsibilities
- Apply lubricants to machinery according to schedules and specifications
- Inspect lubrication systems for leaks, wear, or contamination
- Maintain accurate lubrication records and usage logs
- Support troubleshooting of lubrication-related mechanical issues
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability
- Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of lubricants
- Use and maintain lubrication tools correctly
- Report equipment abnormalities to supervisors
2. CBM Technician (Condition-Based Monitoring Technician)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3–5 years’ experience in condition-based monitoring or predictive maintenance
Skills
- Proficiency in CBM tools (vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing)
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting machine condition data
- Knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance systems
- Good communication and reporting skills
Responsibilities
- Perform vibration analysis on equipment such as pumps, fans, and gearboxes
- Conduct alignment and balancing of rotating equipment
- Carry out thickness measurements for corrosion detection
- Perform oil analysis to detect contamination and wear
- Maintain and calibrate CBM tools for accuracy
- Prepare weekly and monthly condition monitoring reports
- Support maintenance and operations teams with technical insights
