Lifewater is recruiting a professional and reliable Driver to support its operations in Shinyanga, Tanzania. This role is ideal for candidates searching for Driver jobs in Tanzania, particularly within the NGO and humanitarian sector.

Lifewater is a faith-based nonprofit organization focused on improving access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). The Driver will provide safe transportation services to staff and support fleet management while maintaining high standards of safety, integrity, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide safe, reliable, and timely transportation for staff and authorized personnel
Ensure passenger safety and adhere to all road safety regulations
Maintain daily vehicle logs including mileage, fuel usage, and servicing records
Monitor vehicle condition and ensure regular inspections and maintenance
Keep the vehicle clean and in good working condition at all times
Perform minor vehicle repairs and report major mechanical issues
Check essential vehicle components (oil, tires, brakes, lights, etc.)
Ensure sufficient fuel levels at all times
Maintain valid vehicle documentation (insurance, permits, road safety compliance)
Respond appropriately in case of accidents and complete required reports
Support office administrative tasks such as filing and record keeping
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements / Qualifications:

Valid Tanzanian driving license with Class C1, C2, and C3
Certification as Advanced Driver Grade II from the National Institute of Transportation
Ordinary Level Secondary Education Certificate (Form IV)
Minimum of 3 years driving experience, preferably in an NGO environment
Formal training in driving and basic vehicle maintenance
Clean driving record with no major accidents or violations
Basic communication skills in English (spoken and written)
Knowledge of Shinyanga region roads is an added advantage
