Pathfinder International is seeking a Procurement Intern to support procurement operations in the country office in Dar es Salaam. Key Responsibilities
Procurement Process
- Track requests from procurement plans and remind users to submit requests on time
- Generate purchase orders
- Track purchases and ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Submit invoices to finance on time
- Resolve invoice issues to support timely supplier payments
- Provide timely feedback to internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Provide tender award and rejection notifications to suppliers
- Negotiate purchases to achieve value for money and cost savings
Documents Maintenance
- File procurement physical documents
- Receive and archive vendor samples
Internal Relationship Building and Procurement Compliance
- Communicate and train stakeholders on procurement policy requirements
- Raise awareness on the importance of creating approved purchasing requisitions before procurement inquiries
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or related field
Job-Specific Competencies
- Foundational knowledge of purchasing commodities, computer hardware, software, materials, equipment, services, and supplies
- Advanced knowledge of procurement processes
- Foundational knowledge of purchasing applications
- Ability to maintain vendor relationships
Organizational Competencies
- Proven ability to use local language and English language
- Foundational knowledge of MS Office applications including MS Word and MS Outlook
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
