Job Description
Cashier & Clinic Operations Officer; UMATI Clinic in Mwanza is hiring a Cashier & Clinic Operations Officer. The role focuses on patient registration, billing, payment processing, and supporting smooth daily clinic operations. The ideal candidate combines strong financial management skills with excellent customer service to improve patient satisfaction and clinic efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Collection & Financial Management
- Receive and process payments using approved clinic systems
- Issue official receipts for all transactions
- Generate invoices for insured and cashless clients
- Record financial transactions and manage third-party claims
- Enforce credit policies for insurance clients
- Ensure compliance with insurance requirements and documentation
- Deposit cash into approved bank accounts with proper records
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate financial transaction records
- Prepare daily revenue reports using approved formats
- Handle patient data with strict confidentiality
- Maintain filing systems, databases, and inventory records
- Ensure complete documentation for insurance claims
Administration & Clinic Operations
- Coordinate daily administrative activities for smooth clinic operations
- Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with medical staff
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and readiness of clinic environment
- Monitor clinic supplies and inventory levels
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up insurance payments
- Support budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting
- Maintain asset registers and operational records
- Work with the Accountant on financial reconciliation
Customer Service
- Provide accurate information to patients on services offered
- Handle patient inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally
- Maintain high standards of patient care and satisfaction
- Communicate service updates and test results promptly
- Support emergency response procedures when required

Cashier & Clinic Operations Officer Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Knowledge of front office operations is an added advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Understanding of office management systems and procedures
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ cashier experience (healthcare sector preferred)
- Experience in healthcare billing and financial management is an advantage
