Job Overview
Barrick Gold Corporation is recruiting Charge Up Trainer – Experts to support underground mining operations in Shinyanga. The role focuses on delivering technical training, competency assessments, and safety coaching for underground charge-up teams.
This position plays a key role in improving blasting safety, operational performance, and workforce skills in mining activities.
Mining Jobs Shinyanga Key Responsibilities
Training & Development
- Deliver classroom and practical training for underground charge-up operations
- Train teams on explosives handling, transport, storage, and blast preparation
- Conduct competency assessments aligned with mining standards
- Develop training guides, SOPs, and assessment tools
- Mentor new and existing underground operators
- Identify skill gaps and design targeted training programs
Safety & Compliance
- Promote strict safety standards and zero-harm practices
- Ensure compliance with mining laws and explosives regulations
- Perform field inspections, audits, and safety checks
- Support incident investigations and corrective actions
Operational Support
- Work with engineers and supervisors on blast execution planning
- Provide technical guidance on charging techniques and blast design
- Maintain training records and competency tracking systems
- Support onboarding and certification of new staff
Continuous Improvement
- Improve training methods and delivery systems
- Support adoption of modern blasting technologies
- Contribute to updates of operational procedures and safety systems

Education & Certification
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent
- Valid Shotfirer or Blaster License
Experience
- 5–10 years underground charge-up mining experience
- Proven background in training or mentoring mining personnel
- Strong experience in explosives systems and blasting operations
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of modern blasting systems (i-kon, EBS, smart detonators)
- Understanding of mining safety laws and explosives regulations
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
