Who We Are

EACOP Tanzania Internship Program; The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) is a transformative project that spans across Uganda and Tanzania, designed to transport crude oil over a 1,443 km pipeline from Hoima in Uganda to the port of Tanga in Tanzania. Once operational, the pipeline will play a crucial role in facilitating the export of East African crude oil to the global market.

Our internship program provides an exceptional opportunity for university students to gain hands-on industry experience, develop their skills, and contribute to the region’s socio-economic development. The EACOP internship program is an integral part of our commitment to building local talent and supporting sustainable development in the East African energy sector.

Available Internship Positions

We are seeking motivated and driven interns for the following departments:

1. Corporate Affairs
Number of Positions: 1
Qualification: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.

2. Legal & Compliance
Number of Positions: 1
Qualification: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or a master’s degree in law.

3. Local Content
Number of Positions: 1
Qualification: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Law, Community Development, or related field. Strong data management and Excel skills are required.

4. Finance
Number of Positions: 1
Qualification: Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.

5. Projects (Project Controls)
Number of Positions: 1
Qualification: Pursuing a degree in Public Administration or Human Resource Management.

6. HSE (Environment)
Number of Positions: 1
Qualification: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Science, Engineering, or related field. Fluent in English (both written and spoken).

7. Field Operations Logistics (FOPS)
Number of Positions: 1
Qualification: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Customs, or Warehouse Management.

8. Social & Economic Investment
Number of Positions: 1
Qualification: Pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Sociology, or Development Studies.

9. Human Resources
Number of Positions: 1
Qualification: Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration.

Key Responsibilities

As an intern with EACOP, your key responsibilities will vary depending on your department but will generally include:

  • Assisting in day-to-day departmental operations.
  • Supporting the team with data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Contributing to projects and initiatives within the department.
  • Participating in meetings and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks and documentation as needed.

EACOP Tanzania Internship Qualifications & Skills

Education: Must be enrolled in a relevant degree program at a recognized university.

Experience: Previous internship or related work experience is a plus but not required.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and familiarity with industry-specific tools/software is advantageous.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical thinking.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
