Key Responsibilities

As the ICT Teacher, you will be responsible for the following:

• Delivering Engaging Lessons: Teach ICT concepts aligned with the Cambridge British curriculum, ensuring lessons are interactive, engaging, and accessible to all students.
• Curriculum Development: Design and implement curriculum plans that promote digital literacy, problem-solving, and computational thinking.
• Classroom Management: Create a positive and dynamic classroom environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and teamwork.
• Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help students improve their understanding and skills.
• Technology Integration: Integrate the use of technology into classroom teaching and learning processes, promoting the responsible and ethical use of digital tools.
• Extracurricular Activities: Support and organize extracurricular ICT-related activities, clubs, and competitions to foster a deeper interest in technology.
• Collaboration with Colleagues: Work closely with fellow educators to integrate ICT across various subjects and collaborate on school-wide projects.
• Professional Development: Stay up to date with the latest trends in educational technology and continuously seek opportunities for professional growth.

ICT Teacher Job Qualifications & Skills

Education and Experience

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent qualifications).
• A teaching qualification such as a PGCE, or equivalent teacher training, is highly desirable.
• At least 2 years of teaching experience in ICT or a similar subject, ideally within an international school or Cambridge curriculum environment.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in teaching a variety of ICT topics, including but not limited to coding, programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript), computer hardware, software applications, and digital literacy.
• Experience with educational technologies and tools (e.g., Google Classroom, Microsoft Office, coding platforms).
• Strong knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum (CAIE) for ICT and Computer Science is preferred but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with digital classroom tools, online learning platforms, and virtual collaboration tools.

Soft Skills

• Effective Communication: Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to students with varying levels of understanding.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges in the classroom and during curriculum development.
