The Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral centre for high-risk and emergency deliveries in Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania. CCBRT also plays a major role in preventing lifelong disabilities through maternal and newborn healthcare services, including obstetric fistula treatment.
Job Summary
CCBRT seeks a qualified Medical Doctor to join the Clinical Division and support outpatient, inpatient, and emergency healthcare services. The role involves patient examination, treatment, ward management, surgical support, and participation in clinical outreach activities.
Medical Doctor Key Responsibilities
- Examine and treat patients in outpatient and inpatient departments
- Run scheduled clinical sessions
- Screen and assess incoming patients
- Admit patients and manage ward care
- Prepare operation schedules
- Update senior doctors on patient progress and discharge plans
- Assist in minor surgical procedures
- Support senior surgeons during major operations
- Participate in outreach and community health activities
- Work in shifts, including night and weekend duty rotations
Candidate Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) from a recognized institution
- Completed one-year internship
- Minimum GPA of 2.7 at undergraduate level
- At least 1 year post-intern experience in a reputable organisation
- Registered with Tanganyika Medical Council
- Valid 2026 medical practice licence
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
- Proactive and patient-focused attitude
