VisionFund Tanzania is hiring an experienced Agri-Business Development Officer to support agricultural finance and lending initiatives. With over 75 years of global experience, the organization works to improve the lives of vulnerable children and communities through sustainable economic solutions.

This role focuses on developing and managing agricultural loan products tailored to smallholder farmers. The Agri-Business Development Officer will lead product innovation, strengthen partnerships, and drive growth in agricultural finance while aligning with VisionFund’s strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Agriculture Planning and Implementation:

Support development of agriculture master plans for lending operations
Oversee implementation aligned with VisionFund Tanzania strategy and Vision 2030 goals

2. Product Development and Management:

Design and refine agricultural loan products based on market research and value chain analysis
Improve financial products to meet the evolving needs of smallholder farmers

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Work closely with credit, insurance, and other internal teams
Coordinate with marketing teams to promote agricultural financial products

4. Market Positioning and Branding:

Develop strategies to position agricultural products in the market
Lead branding initiatives to increase visibility and uptake

5. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

Define and track KPIs for agricultural loan products
Prepare performance reports with recommendations for improvement

6. Client Engagement and Feedback:

Collect and analyze feedback from farmers and clients
Use insights to improve products and drive innovation

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Business, Finance, or related field
Experience working with development organizations or agricultural partners
Training or certification in agricultural finance is an added advantage
Proven experience in product management or financial services
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Excellent project management and organizational abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of credit bureau systems and financial sector practices
Familiarity with challenges facing smallholder farmers
Experience in microfinance or related institutions
