Job Description
Kilimo Trust is hiring a Finance & Administration Intern in Dodoma, Tanzania. This internship opportunity is ideal for graduates seeking finance, accounting, bookkeeping, and office administration jobs in Tanzania. The Finance & Administration Intern will support the Finance & Administration Unit by assisting with financial operations, reporting, administrative coordination, and office management while gaining practical industry experience.
This Finance & Administration Internship offers valuable exposure to accounting systems, payment processing, financial reporting standards, procurement support, travel logistics, and administrative functions within a professional work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Finance
- Assist in assembling and preliminary checking of payment requisitions, invoices, and related documents
- Support preparation of payment vouchers and cheques according to company procedures
- Assist in ensuring payment acknowledgments by beneficiaries
- Maintain proper filing of payment documents for future reference
- Ensure payment documents are properly stamped as ‘PAID’
- Assist in receiving, assembling, and checking travel accountabilities for authorization
- Maintain records of travel advance requests and accountability summaries
- Support weekly transaction entries into the accounting system
- Maintain and update the inventory register
- Track and follow up on staff travel advances for timely accountability
- Assist with data entry and maintenance of the fixed assets register
Administration
Front Office Management
- Support maintenance of the general filing system and correspondence records
- Assist in organizing the front office desk and office surroundings to enhance corporate image
- Support coordination of internal meetings, scheduling, and agenda preparation
General Administration
- Assist in coordinating staff travel logistics
- Support procurement coordination for goods and services while ensuring value for money
- Assist in preparing office correspondence and staff memos
- Support event organization and logistical arrangements
- Manage office equipment coordination with service providers
- Support digital archiving by scanning and saving documents on server/cloud systems
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum of one year of experience in finance, accounting, or administration work
- Basic spreadsheet skills
- Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Basic accounting and bookkeeping skills
- Basic office administration experience
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Honest and trustworthy character
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic work environment
