Medical Officer II

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive medical services in hospitals, including the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases, with a focus on pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, and both routine and emergency surgical care.
  • Delivering and supervising health education programs while promoting community health at the district, regional, or assigned workplace.
  • Maintaining and utilizing health records and statistical data through established information systems.
  • Investigating, monitoring, and preventing disease outbreaks.
  • Preparing and coordinating continuing professional development (CPD) programs for healthcare workers.
  • Supervising, guiding, and mentoring subordinate staff.
  • Designing, conducting, evaluating, and disseminating medical research findings.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve the quality of healthcare services within their field.
  • Preparing healthcare service plans and budget estimates.
  • Participating in medical audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance healthcare service delivery.
  • Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor in accordance with their education, experience, and professional expertise.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • A Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from a university recognized by the Government.
  • Registration with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.

Remuneration

  • Salary Scale: TGHS E

Assistant Nursing Officer II
