Tanganyika Instant Coffee Co. Ltd (TANICA), a well-established instant coffee producer in Tanzania operating since 1963, is inviting qualified Tanzanian professionals to apply for the Accountant position based in Bukoba Municipality.

This Accountant job in Tanzania focuses on financial reporting, bookkeeping, tax compliance, budgeting, and cash flow management within a manufacturing and agro-processing environment. The role requires strong accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support accurate financial decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Record all financial transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, and receipts
• Maintain accurate general ledger and accounting records
• Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards
• Assist in budgeting and monitor budget performance
• Conduct financial variance analysis and support cost control measures
• Perform regular bank reconciliations
• Monitor cash flow and liquidity position
• Manage cash receipts and payments
• Oversee supplier payments and follow up on customer receivables
• Ensure timely invoicing and collections
• Prepare and submit tax returns (VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, and others)
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and liaise with tax authorities when required
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent) is an added advantage
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance in a reputable organization
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation
• Good analytical and reporting skills
• High level of accuracy and integrity
