Job Description / Maintenance Planner

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA), the largest Coca-Cola bottler in Africa, is hiring a Maintenance Planner in Mbeya, Tanzania. This manufacturing and engineering role reports to the Plant Engineer and focuses on asset management, maintenance planning, predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, and plant productivity.

The Maintenance Planner will provide technical leadership to improve equipment availability, maintainability, and operational efficiency at the lowest cost. Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership in asset management and maintenance systems
Deploy and support asset management strategies
Implement predictive maintenance techniques
Conduct asset management system audits
Coach staff on asset management principles
Maintain a safe, healthy, and risk-free work environment
Plan daily maintenance activities using the 5-day planning cycle
Review emergency work orders and create sub-work orders
Develop maintenance schedules and assign tasks to team members and contractors
Organize maintenance work orders and loading sheets
Ensure availability of tools and spare parts
Coordinate autonomous maintenance schedules
Chair pre/post-maintenance meetings
Create spare reservations
Review task safety requirements
Support continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives

Plan weekly and annual maintenance shutdowns
Analyze SAP downtime data
Implement Engineering Change Management processes
Ensure compliance with safety standards, PPE, and Permit to Work requirements
Investigate incidents and manage safety hazards
Manage maintenance spares
Train team members on new technologies and procedures
Identify productivity and cost-saving opportunities
Facilitate machine problem-solving systems
Track KPIs and generate reports

Requirements / Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent trade qualification
3 to 5 years of production engineering experience
Minimum 3 years at supervisory level
Packaging plant knowledge is an added advantage
PC literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, MSD, and D365 F&O
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent planning and organizational skills
