Job Summary

The U.S. Mission in Tanzania is hiring a Strategic Content Coordination Specialist to lead digital engagement and public communication within the Public Diplomacy office.

This role focuses on managing social media platforms, coordinating strategic messaging, and developing content for Tanzanian audiences across digital and traditional channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage online engagement across social media and mobile platforms
  • Plan and produce strategic multimedia content
  • Develop communication policies, procedures, and digital guidelines
  • Support public diplomacy planning, audience research, and performance evaluation
  • Coordinate crisis communication strategies
  • Oversee content distribution across multiple platforms

Requirements

Education

  • Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or related field

Experience

  • Minimum 4 years in communications, public engagement, or market research
  • Proven experience in multimedia campaigns (digital and traditional)

Language Skills

  • Fluent English (Level 4)
  • Fluent Swahili (Level 4)

Knowledge Required

  • Strong understanding of Tanzanian audiences and communication trends
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, analytics, and audience targeting
  • Familiarity with regional and global communication patterns
  • Understanding of cultural, social, and media influences in Tanzania
