Job Description:

HLB Tanzania is hiring a Tax Consultant in Dar es Salaam to support its Tax & Compliance department. This opportunity is ideal for professionals seeking tax consultant jobs in Tanzania with a focus on tax compliance, advisory, and regulatory engagement.

The Tax Consultant will lead tax functions across multiple entities, ensuring full compliance with Tanzania and Zanzibar tax regulations while enhancing tax efficiency and performance. This role requires strong expertise in corporate tax, payroll taxes, and audit coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage end-to-end tax compliance processes including VAT, PAYE, WHT, and other statutory taxes
Provide strategic tax advisory on corporate structuring and international tax matters
Lead tax audits and act as the main liaison with regulatory authorities and auditors
Oversee payroll tax compliance including NSSF, WCF, and PAYE accuracy
Prepare and deliver detailed tax reports for management and annual audits
Ensure adherence to all local tax laws and regulatory requirements

Requirements / Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
3–5 years of experience in tax compliance and advisory
CPA or equivalent certification is an added advantage
Experience working in multi-entity environments is preferred

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of Tanzania tax laws and TRA systems
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
High level of integrity and professional ethics
