Yas is recruiting a Data Scientist – Solutions to design, develop, and deploy data-driven solutions that support business decision-making and digital transformation. This role focuses on predictive modeling, machine learning, data engineering, and advanced analytics within a fast-growing telecommunications environment in Tanzania.

The ideal candidate will work on building scalable data solutions, improving data quality, and deploying machine learning models into production systems to solve real business challenges.

Responsibilities

Design and develop data-driven solutions including predictive models, optimization algorithms, recommendation systems, and reporting tools
Build and implement automated analytics solutions using modern data tools and frameworks
Clean, prepare, and validate structured and unstructured data for analysis
Develop and maintain data pipelines for automated data collection, processing, and storage
Deploy machine learning models into production environments
Monitor model performance and retrain models when required
Perform data pre-processing to ensure accuracy and usability for analytics
Support continuous improvement of data science solutions and reporting systems

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Data Science, Analytics, Software Development, or Software Engineering
Strong programming skills (data analysis and machine learning environments)
Experience in data preparation, modeling, and deployment workflows
Strong understanding of structured and unstructured data processing
Ability to work with data pipelines and automation tools
Good problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
