A reputable organization is hiring a Finance Officer in Dar es Salaam to oversee daily financial operations and maintain accurate financial records. This role focuses on financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls to support smooth organizational performance.

The Finance Officer will work closely with the Finance Manager and support multiple departments in maintaining efficient financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Petty Cash Management

Manage petty cash float and approved payments
Track balances and maintain proper records
Ensure accountability through receipts and documentation

2. Inventory & Asset Management

Monitor financial records related to inventory movement
Support stock counts and reconciliation processes
Assist in asset tracking based on internal policies

3. Administrative & Financial Support

Maintain organized financial records (digital and physical)
Prepare documents for audits and reporting
Collaborate with HR, Operations, and other teams

4. Compliance & Process Improvement

Stay updated on financial regulations and policies
Recommend improvements to finance systems and procedures
Perform additional finance duties assigned by the Finance Manager

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
At least 2 years of experience in finance or accounting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong communication and organizational skills
High level of integrity and confidentiality

Preferred Experience

Experience working with NGOs or social enterprises
Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems
Experience supporting multi-location or field operations
