Key Responsibilities

Safety and Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures, including PPE usage and safety training attendance
• Comply with Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental policies

Pump and Mechanical Maintenance

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and ensure compliance

Operations and Equipment Management

• Follow maintenance procedures and work instructions accurately

• Identify mechanical tools, resources, and job requirements
• Monitor equipment availability and report status to supervisors
• Complete shift handover procedures

Teamwork and Training

• Support on-the-job training for junior team members
• Participate in skills development and training programs
• Assist in poly pipe welding activities when required
• Communicate equipment status updates to supervisors and stakeholders

Requirements / Qualifications

• Trade qualification (VETA, FTC, or Diploma) in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Pump Fitter
• Experience in open cast or underground mining is essential
• Valid Tanzanian driving license
• Strong fault finding and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of pump systems operation and maintenance
• Understanding of fluid mechanical principles
• Ability to interpret mechanical specifications, codes, and symbols
• Knowledge of mechanical tools, equipment, and techniques
• Ability to calculate material requirements from job specifications
